The Great Unemployment Monster Of India Is Engulfing Indian Youth

Unemployment is a bitter truth of India that Modi govt is not willing to discuss and admit. Modi govt is using slogans, Jumlabaazi, lies and gaslighting to suppress any inconvenient discussion about unemployment menace of India.

The assertion that unemployment in India will worsen due to stricter H-1B visa and US legal requirements is not just oversimplification but a bitter truth. Changes to the H-1B visa program will severely impact Indian tech workers and greatly effect other workers.

Although H-1B program is a temporary work visa yet its restrictions will lead to loss of almost all IT outsourcing jobs for Indian professionals in the US. This would create additional burden upon already severe unemployment conditions of India. This would also be followed by mass scale layoffs as IT workers would no more be required due to elimination of IT outsourcing works. This would naturally and automatically cascade into widespread unemployment in India.

Indian economy has become a gig economy and there is no scope for regular jobs in India anymore. Even among the gig economy segment, there are thousand times more candidates than required. Bonded labour and modern day slavery of Indians has been disguised as gig economy and gig employment of India. IT employees returning form US would never be able to contribute to India’s economy as there are no jobs and corruption and inefficiency are ruling India.

A significant portion of H-1B visa holders work in the Indian IT sector, and stricter regulations could affect this industry. Companies that rely on sending employees to the US on H-1B visas may face increased costs and logistical challenges. The myth of remote work opportunities would also be exposed very soon. If there are remote works, they would be offered to US citizens instead of Indians due to recent policy change of Trump administration. The only exception is the demand for highly skilled workforce of India that is still allowed to go to US. But that would create further brain drain for an intellectually bankrupt nation like India.

Those belonging to IT outsourcing segment would have negligible skills to offer either in US or in India. We already have lakhs of engineers, software professionals, etc wandering at roads without a job. So these returned professionals would remain jobless and would further add to the ever increasing unemployed workforce.

So it is absolutely correct to say that unemployment in India will inevitably worsen and there is no escape from this truth. Of course, we can close our eyes to the reality and stay in the dream world but that would not help at all. There is no level of growth of Indian IT sector that can accommodate ever increasing unemployed youth of India.
